Gelli Printing

Gel printing or gelli printing is a form of art to make prints called monoprinting. A gelli plate, which is a soft silicone plate that allows you create beautiful prints without a press.
The class will enjoy learning the techniques of gel printing and then will experiment with botanicals and found objects to make beautiful paper that can be framed, made into cards or used in collages and journaling.
Instructor: Ellen Sullivan Taylor
This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience.
Linocut Printmaking

In this class students will be introduced to the printmaking process of linocut. The class will cover techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing. At their own pace students will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using carving tools. Students will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand. In a relaxed and welcoming environment students will create many beautiful prints of their own as well as collaborate with their classmates.
This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience.
This class is taught by Brooke Lambert.
Brooke is a professional printmaker and painter. She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and shows her work widely in New England, New York, and beyond. Brooke works in Studio 447 at Western Avenue Studios & Lofts in her current city of Lowell, MA. She is currently represented by Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in New York. Brooke is a sponsored artist by Akua Inks and Speedball Art Products. She has eleven years of teaching experience and currently teaches art workshops and holds artist demos at several locations in MA, NH, and ME.

Do you love poetry, and want to continue writing in a creative space? Are you intimidated (but intrigued) by poetry? Come learn, write, and share in a creative and curious environment, where we’ll discuss poems across time periods, cultures, and geography, and explore themes through writing and workshopping.
An exploration of writing styles, ranging from classical poets, like Sappho, to
modern contemporary poets. In each class, we’ll read and discuss a poem,
explore themes, and write our own poems inspired by the work discussed.

Experimenting with Watercolor Surfaces

See what you can do with watercolor when you apply it to a variety of surfaces. This is a chance to experiment on a variety of papers - traditional hot press, cold press, rough papers as well as nontraditional materials such as watercolor panels, Yupo, mineral paper and rice paper.

Painting Exploration

We will work from life on a still life of flowers and fruit to study light and shadow and then move on to landscape from an image of your choice and explore creating depth and composition.
Beginners and intermediate painting. Some experience with drawing, and using paint brushes.
